Theme: Change

Theme Change – you will have to click on the Post to read all of it… goes with the theme.

I have changed the theme of the site a few times. I was annoyed that the nice simple themes for some reason place the menu at the bottom of the site, instead of on the side. I enjoyed the last theme I had here, so I will poke through the Code.

The upgrade to the lastest and greatest WordPress went very well, and the site isn’t blocked at work anymore.

And I added a gallery.

Looking Back

Have you been at the point where you have things to do and things you don’t want to do but you take a minute or two, or a few more to look back?

I probably do this more often then I should, however it can bring up a multitude of emotions and events.

Today I was thinking about vehicles:

In High School I purchased my first car: 1984 Buick Skylark, I never got to drive it because of damage done to the front end of the car (the previous owner was involved in an accident), and that the breaks would lock up if you drove it in anything but reverse (Forward!).

Shortly thereafter I purchased my second car: 1984 Honda Civic Station Wagon (my parents car). I don’t know what I had for the year ’84. This was a good car and I was the last owner, I believe the cam shaft siezed on the way to a job interview my Senior year in High School.

After this I have been fond of many cars and trucks, always wanting the ones well out of my price range, but hey! who doesn’t do that once in a while. After living in Arizona (the first time 99-01)  I really wanted two things 1. a Jeep and 2. a Honda CRX.

After moving to Washington in ’01 I was able to purchase (well the CRX was a gift from my Dad) a CRX and then a Jeep.

My Third vehicle: 1984 (again!) Honda CRX 1.8L. This was a much appreciated gift from my Dad. Which lasted a week and then the Head Froze! Yeah, wonderful… I with the help of my Dad and some very good friends were finally able to replace the Head with another one, replace the gaskets, and get the car running for a while (6-7 months). Thanks Dad, Bill, Daris, Jared, Ben, and Rob.

My Fourth vehicle: 1984 (again!!) Jeep Commanche.  If there was a little truck that you could do just about anything with that was built like a tank, this sucker was it! I really really enjoyed this truck, it was a Jeep (therefore filling the Jeep want part (partially, but enough))  and it definitely worked at getting me from Kirkland to the University of Washington every morning at 3:30 Am. It was a little worriesome crossing the bridge over the Cut(?) the bridge over the canal between Lake Washington and Lake Union.  The Jeep was sacrificed as a trade in for my next and current vehicle.

My Fifth vehicle: 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs. I love this car! I’ve ranted and raved about Subaru and my Subaru to the point peoples brains automatically filter out my comments and ignore me. AWD is a gift from the Gods of the Road and Dirt and pure automotive Joy!

Take a look back, sort and sift through all the stuff that didn’ t happen, should have happend, past the stuff you didn’t want to have happen, to the stuff that Did happen. Even though it may have been rough or not as pleasant as you wanted. I believe things happen for many reasons but I think a very major part of what happens is because We wanted them to happen, so they did!

Neglect: Again

Since I can’t access my blog at work… I haven’t done much with it. I need to update the blog and put pictures of my Dog, our choices for tile, countertops, and cupboards in the new house.

I will get that stuff put up here soon.

I am also changing schedules… moving to a 2nd shift spot again – 3pm to 2am… with weekends off. It will be interesting.
