I honestly Hate the RIAA

It is pathetic what the Recording Industry has declined into… the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) is the most backwards and retarded thing I have ever heard of. I am going to attack my customers for simply existing and buying products, yes this is completely logical.

I dunno how long this link will last but here is was an article by the Washington Post.

***Edit***
I have removed the link because the person who wrote the posts article was wrong. Though they are against copying music, in lawsuit mentioned in the previously removed article RIAA only said it was illegal to make digital copies AND make them available to Filesharing methods (i.e. Shared Folders).

I will leave the rest of my rant below until I deem it incorrect, but right now it still seems that the logical extreme will be going after everyone.

***End Edit***

I feel as though the RIAA is simply there to monitor their customers and attack them instead of help them. These are people that legally acquired their music and lets say copied it into their computer to listen to it on their iPod or Phone or some MP3 capable device. Anyone that has EVER done this according to the RIAA has broken the law. You have stolen from the recording industry because you made an illegal copy and distributed it to someone (yourself).

How assinine can this association be? A good business model is not based on sueing your own customers! Promoting sales and supporting customers might result in a little bit more … ummm maybe: Sales!

I am still waiting for a shred of evidence, a smidgen of reason in the maddness and complete opposition to logical thought in anything the RIAA has done. I will be waiting probably until long after the day that myself and everyone I know has been raided and accused of breaking the law.

There seems to be no end to their insanity.

On-Call

So this weekend was my first full weekend on-call, and I didn’t get any calls! yay! The restaurant in Scottsdale “Sopporo” (can’t remember the spelling right now) was quite good, but to far of a drive for a regular dining experience.

We had family in town for the weekend, they will be flying out today. It was good to see them.

Live was having trouble yesterday, the network wasn’t allowing some users to connect, and those of us who could connect seemed to fight with the matchmaking system in getting partys setup. CoD4 wouldn’t even detect a Live connection.

Last night it was decided (again for some) that “Stardust” is a fantastic movie, lets just say there was a little opposition prior to the movie being played.

The 360

Well its been purchased!

I am the owner of an X box 360 (360 for short). Now I need to think up something inventive for a tag name, and for some reason I am leaning towards “failover” “failoverdemon” or “failoverdaemon”… after running the name “failover” past people it is agreed from the people in the know that failover is a good name, we’ll see if it passes the wife test.

More later…

So School…

I am in School and this is good, not to mention I like the format of this school more than the last so I will definitely attend more than just one class.

Something I am finding though, is taking a technology class after being submersed in it for my whole day makes it so I don’t really care about the name of the screen that I can delete slides out of. I like knowing important things, names of things that allow me to converse about a subject with someone else. However, I cannot think of a valid reason other than my IT test (in this class) to know that particular windows specified name.

I have been quite impressed with the program we use for our live sessions Adobe Connect Pro is quite robust and pleasant to work with. My plan is to get my BSIT and go from there… we’ll see how it goes.

Amok

Now that I am working in the mornings I get to BS with Ammon… I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing.

This morning I was notified that his coffee machine has moved 8 minutes forward in time so it doesn’t make him coffee when he wakes up. Eh, kinda odd… but its Ammon so its ok.

Then it developed into this: Coffee.

Yeah, I don’t think I am allowed to talk to ammon in the mornings when I plan on working… it just leads to me leaning back in my chair trying to quietly laugh as I fight the tears.

I’d post the contents of our converstation but it started to go bad when he decided pepper (Sgt. Pepper, his chinchilla) needed a pet. A real live pet dwarf hammster, to be in a cage of its own contained in peppers cage … “recursive rodents”. Only to spin wildly out of control when I tried to explain ‘Red Vs Blue’ … we wont go there.

Eh, I’ll run the risk of … falling out of my chair? in the mornings.

Busy…

So I am busy at work… its fun having a new job and I am finally getting used to my new schedule.

Nick, I removed your comments that linked to you website. The reason for this is your www.*****.com (not going to link) seems to have a virus and a bunch of spam links, you’re going to want to check that out.

We watched the Golden Compass this weekend, it’s very good (rushed in some places) but good… it is also the first of at least two movies and will pull a cliffhanger on you.

I have heard very good things about Hitman and hope to see that one of these days.

Boy do I have a lot of work to update things on here… that will have to happen later.
