The Game

So…

I’ve been not so quietly contemplating suspending WoW for a bit… the new expansion is out very soon, the peaceful realms are now starting to stir. They are getting busier and busier forming queues when trying to log in, I don’t see my bro-in-law often enough to do much with him…

And I’ve been rocking Halo3! 360voice

Last night I shot a hornet out of the sky and dropped it on an unsuspecting teammates head… me just saying that sounds odd, and it was merely a coincidence that the vehicle killed him. It was not merely a coincidence that he kicked me from the game because of the betrayal. One of the really really awesome things about Halo3 is you can replay the entire game after finishing up a multiplayer match. So the wife and I waded through about ~3:20 (3 minutes 20 seconds) of game play to figure out how I killed this guy. It wasn’t the fool that jumped on the tank… no it was the guy that had a bit of hornet wreckage clip his head after I shot it out of the air. Silly Bungie… but they rock.

SO Failover does kill!

Baby furniture and Laundry

Well they have arrived – 2 cribs, 1 dresser, 1 chest, 1 washer, and 1 dryer.

I took a picture of the washer and dryer I’ve got to resize it before I put it on here, maybe I should do that now so I can put the pictures on here.

I need to take picture of the fan I installed with the furniture in the boys room… We only assembled one crib this weekend and the other is still in the box. It’s a large box with a good size crib in it. We were hoping to put a glider chair in the boys room so that we would have a place to sit while in the room, it seems that there is no theoretical room for the chair in the room with all the needed major furniture, but we’ll see what happens.

Here is a picture of the laundry room and then one of Anubis and myself while cleaning office:

It was a fun weekend… quiet is a good thing.

To Game or Not to Game?

I gave in and had a lot of fun with Halo3 on Live this weekend… Haven’t opened any achievements recently, but have been rocking multiplayer a lot. I’ve been lucky and gotten Ammon to run around with me a few times too.

Tonight I plan on getting the most recently released Map content (600 points or about $8.00).

Babies Website

So I’ve been working on a website for the boys… it’s in progress and has a long way to go, I think I will be adding a part to the house page too with the stuff I did in the boys bedroom. I’m working on getting pictures up there too.

Here’s a link: Babies

DHCP is kind of important

There are many really nifty technologies out there that make life easier on a daily basis that I have no understanding of… does this stop me from trying to dabble in them? I’ll give you a hint -> NO! I dabble with almost anything I can get my hands on and have the tools too.

SO… I’ve been working to get CentOS installed on more than just the little Compaq laptop that it is running on. My AMD3k system with the Gigabyte board is not happy, getting what appears to be BIOS errors with the Cool’n'Quiet chip setting. (32bit and 64bit installs both fail, 32bit kernel panics when trying to shutdown and 64bit just hangs with the keyboard flashing (which is odd)).

In my genius I decided to get some use out of the Frankenstein Dell Optiplex GX50 machine (it has 256mb of RAM because I ninja’d some from another box)… it still sucks in every sense of the word however. Because this thing is soooo locked down it wont boot off of a CD/DVD-Rom and only has 2 options (with some tweaking) to boot off of the Disk or Netboot.

I decided I was going to take on the rigorous Netboot. This lead to 2 hours of downtime of my entire network… surprisingly enough, turning off DHCP on my LinksysWRT54G was a bad thing… the network crumbled… and DHCP from the Laptop never worked.

More detailed carnage later.

I need a change of pace

I seriously need a change of pace or I’m going to blow a gasket…
