Windows7
So I am working on getting Windows7 installed at home, thank goodness for MSDN which is pretty cool except for the horrible downloads.
We’ll see how it goes. I am trying to get a ventrilo server setup, I have it running on a computer but am still struggling with the firewall rules. I am also going to be cracking the MySQL book to learn about the db and gain some ground for building custom automated reports. Good stuff!

DC!
DC was incredible, the family I met for the first time is Awesome! It was really cool meeting people and getting to talk for a few hours with everyone. The service for my great uncle was amazing, I wish I had a better camera and could have taken pictures of the horses and soldiers.
Arlington Cemetery is awe inspiring and saddening at the same time, to know that all of those people laid there have served their country is incredible. It was heart wrenching to look at grave stones and see 22 year old boys who had died in recent battles, there seems to be a lot of available space and unfortunately there is no doubt it will be filled. The service was fit for a King and it was beautiful to feel the love and respect that radiated from the family.
My flight to Phoenix is boarding so hopefully I’ll get to put more time into the site soon.

On the Way to DC
So I am sitting here in Houston, not sure if this is my first visit as we may have stopped here on our way to cozumel. It’s freakin green outside and there is a lot of water, huge change from Arizona.
Continental told me the wrong gate on my ticket so in my travels between gates I tried some Texas BBQ. It was expensive and mediocre, sadly.
I have 20 or so minutes before I board to fly to DC – regan airport, it’s going to be exciting. I need to upload pictures from the boys, they are getting HUGE and almost crawling, very exciting indeed.
I think I may SSH into my home systems and work on the ventrilo permissions, I want to get a server running and available to at least Amok.
Yay for travels, I miss my boys and my wife already.

VMs! and Life
So I downloaded and installed Xen Server by Citrix, except now I need to learn how to create VMs. Next adventure.
I am thinking about changing the front page to something a little bit better coded, rather than my chicken scratch. I’ve downloaded a few php CMSs that I’ll be trying out, most likely on the home systems first.
The boys are doing well and I get to go to Washington DC this week. By the way, when you start dreaming about system/application monitoring and spreadsheets something is very Very wrong.
